Do you ever dream of having wings? Being ale to fly up in the sky? Or better yet be able to ead someone else's mind? or be able to breathe under water? Well I have the story just for you. Maximum Ride is a novel about six genetically mutated children namely: Max she is known as the protgonist and leader of the flock, Fang the quiet and strog willed one and Max's love interest, Iggy the blind one has strong hearing abilities, Nudge who nature is very talkative who is also often inquisitive about fashion, The Gasman(Gazzy) he got his name due to his often toxicating bouts of passing wind, He also has the ability to mimic anyone else's voice, Angel the youngest of the flock. She has the ability to read someone else's mind and later on control other people's mind. She can also breathe under water.Well as we see the kids have a diffrent life from ours. They are living a life where in they are lost and they don't know what to do. They're always on the run being chased after by the evil scientists who had implanted the avian DNA in them. Not the story you imagined right? You thought having wings would be fun? I thought so myself.
The first book is well mostly about their quest on finding angel the youngest member of the flock. On the way the flock had also a mission to destroy the so called School. The School is a place where geneic mutation are being done. This was where the nightmare of the flock began. Second to find out about their origins. Did they have parents? Why did the school do an experiment on them? Why were they being haunted? So many questions were needed to be answered and so little time was left for the flock. Being chased after by the wolf men or as they say "the erasers" was a big of a threat for the flock. Finding their past was a mystery waiting to be solved and destroying the school was a mission to be taken care of. All of this in the hands of a fourteen year old is pretty much very disturbing right? Not what I imagined either. But all this fuss becomes more twisted than it is now when they discovered that their so called dad named Jeb was alive and is now working for their enimies which made the situation a lot worse for the flock. Running is the flocks main escape from these bad guys who had been chasing them all their lives. Escpaing is just a mere dream fo them to achieve. And freedom is nothing but an illusion.
Well will they ever find a happy ending in this twisted action packed story. All I have to say is go on and read the book you'll be sure to love and get attached with the characters.
At first you might think the book is a bit of a bore but when you reach it's peak you'll never wanna stop. The book is filled with action packed scenes that you'll never wanna let go. Once you start reading there's no turning back.
